Is there a reliable herbal combination suitable for the treatment of cough and constant running nose in children? Any suggestion for coughing syrup? |

Miri, there are many herbal prescriptions that may fit this problem. You need to diagnose exactly the energetic pattern of the disorder before you apply the correct herbal prescription. Nonetheless, I'll give you a general prescription that may fit almost in any such case. If you see aggravation stop having the herbs. Chamomile - 2-3 tbl. spoons Glycyrrhiza - 1-2 tbl.spoons (Licorice) Rad. Angelica - 1.5 tbl.spoons (ang. dahurica) Ephedra - 1 tbl spoon (If you can get it and if the child is above 1 yr) Farfara - 2 tbl.spoons Mentha - 2 tbl.spoons Boil all herbs (except the mentha) in 4 glasses of water on a small fire in a heavily covered pot for 25 min. After that, add the mentha for 3 more min. Have the child drink a quarter of glass 5-7 times daily. There is an excellent cough syrup which is also quite cheap and may be bought in many Chinatown herb shops. Its name is: Sea Coconut Cough Mixture. This too must be consumed 5-7 times daily until the cough subsides. Each time 3 tea-spoons in a row. In addition to that you may read the Medical Advice page on my home-page at: http://www.acumedico.com/medical.htm There are some additions there to the above. |
