Dear Shmuel, I have a client who is 72 yrs old, Female, suffers from headaches since childhood and migranes that travel left to right. She came for a treatment, and after acupuncture (balance method, BL/GB ch) she had a release for few hours, than a huge migrane appeared for 48 hrs. 3 days later I tried again Acupuncture (LI4 LR3 SP6 KD3) very gentle, but again, same results - huge migrane for 2 days. now she is afraid of the after effect of acupuncture. she says that anything that vasodilate her blood vessels will cause Migrane and she doesn't want the suffering again. she takes 15 pills to kill her tension headache on daily basis. any thoughts? |

Yes. This is not the preferred way to deal with acute migraine. You first need to eliminate the pain by needling local points such as G-20/ Du-20 and Du-14 + distal such as Li-4/ 11 and the like. Only when you have a remission in the pain you start balancing her system according to your diagnosis. Needless to point out, that on the first stage, needle manipulation in order to control the pain is even more important than points selection. Thus, you need to know how to manipulate the needles appropriately in order to control the pain and gain your patient's confidence in your ability to cure her. |

you are right. I am not sure about needling manipulation to control pain, especially not with her, now, since she is very sensitive to acupuncture again. she tried prior to seeing me 2 times of 10 sessions that didnt help and made her suffer similarly. Thanks for your support, and I might send her over - do you see people in central Israel (ramat-gan/tel-aviv)? Do you teach needling manipulations techniques? can I ? |

Unfortunately, the closest clinic to the center is in Tiv'on... One hour drive from Tel Aviv. And, I am sorry again but I don't teach anymore. |
