Hello - I am not a therapist - but am a person in pain. The area I live in does not have therapist in acuopucture, but I am interested in trying some points for relief. I had a S1 L5 fusion a number of years and am much much better. However I feel: 1. As if the ligaments in my lower back are tight and pulling and restricting my abililty to stand or sit for too long. Also I have very inflammed priformus muscle (right side). Can someone help me to help myself? Many thanks |

I recommend you download Schmuel's Chopstick Acupuncture e-book if you cannot visit an acupuncturist or tui na therapist. But to be going on with: cut off the top 30 cm of a broom handle, place the round end at a point which lies on a line one third of the distance from the top of your hip bone to just below the top of your bottom crack, jam the other end into the corner of a door/wall and lean into it. You can do gentle bouncing if it's too painful. This is a major point for sciatica (GB30 if you want to look it up)Good luck. |

Thanks Kevin. You may look at this link in order to have a clearer view about the location of G-30. http://www.acumedico.com/leg.htm In any event, seems like the use on the bladder meridian, such as B-23/ 25/ 27-28 and B-40 might suit your condition. Application of direct pressure of the broom stick to this stick could be very useful, if you do this properly. I also think that my book could prove very useful in your case. |
