Hi Shmuel, I have a patient who has uterine fibroids and am trying to help her shrink them so she doesn't need surgery which her Dr's are talking to her about. I have her on some great herbal formulas but would like some help with acupuncture protocols. She also has sticky diarhea and gets Uti's. Thanks for any help you can offer. |

Sticky diarrhea and frequent UTI usually point at spleen deficiency with accumulation of dampness. In many instances this is a result, or involves, kidney yang deficiency with excess stagnant fluid in the lower jiao. Sometimes, this condition evolves into a damp-heat condition in the lower jiao, in which case do not use moxa over the needles. Otherwise do. It is appropriate both for the fibroids as well as the UTI. The treatment should be given every other day, in order to be powerful enough to resolve the fibroids, it usually does that, and the stimulation of the needles must be that of dispersion, with strong manipulations. I would suggest as a basic formula: Sp-6/ Sp-9/ Sp-10 - disperse Ren-3/ St-29/ - disperse Ren-4/ Ren-6 - even + moxa (if applicable) B-23/ B-39/ B-36 - even Other assisting points, such as B-17/ B-20 may be added occasionally + other points according to your specific diagnosis. |
