Hi all. I am taking my own pulse now and then ever since I have started practicing acupuncture. It seems that it is not the same all the time... Sometimes it has tight feeling from the very superficial and down, sometimes it is kind of soft and thinner all the way through. Its count is always slow.. Your penny please... Bill. |

First of all Bill, it is not advisable to take one own's pulse. Second, most people have their pulse change throughout the day, as well as their blood presuure, along with their ebb and flow of the meridian system and zang-fu activity. If your impression is right however, the slow count which is predominant, along with a tight pulse, may point out a kidney yang deficiency. Since it changes throughout the day, it may point out a nervous system involvement. Kidney yang has many times this influence over the nervous system, weakening it to the point of nervous tension, apprehension etc., accompanied by a fear of cold and a tendency to curl up. Just...as you say...may penny of thought. |
