Is it good or bad? I understand that this herb is banned in many countries lately but I know it is a major herb in Chinese medicine. So use it or not ?

Ma huang is an excellent herb that has been used in China for centuries. Yet, it has been used with caution and never as a tonic herb on a long time basis. Its dosage is pre-indicated and the herb is prescribed by a qualified practitioner of Chinese medicine, usually in combination with other herbs for a specific disorder.
In the West, the herb is sometimes taken as a single herb, usually for tonic purpuses - which is absolutely wrong. Being consumed this way, there have been numerous incidents where the herb has caused medical problems, even severe ones. This is the reason for its banning in several Western countries.
