Dear Dr Halevi,

I wanted to ask your opinion why, although very popular in the west, Ch. Med. is still not part of the regular medical world.
Why the Chinese model of having Ch. Med. doctors alongside western doctors, is not implemented in other countries (or is it ?).

Ch.med and acupuncture is part of the Chinese culture, and even Ch. doctors trained in western medicine have basic knowledge of the philosophy and practice of Ch. med.
Apart from this, the Ch. public itself has centuries of trust and high esteem for the capabilities and effectiveness of traditional Ch. med. This alone, yields public demand for such medical modalities all over China.
In recent decades, also large portions of the western population have been exposed to the abilities of Ch. med, hence the large number of schools and clinics that sprouted in almost every country in the western hemisphere. I suppose that in the future, this trend will expand and grow until we shall witness also here medical establishments that practice both Ch. and western medicine side by side.

Still there are other Asian countries, some with Chinese population majority as Taiwan and Singapur.
I guess they are waiting for the west to approve their own culture before embarassing it.
