Hi, first of all let me start by saying that I love this site, and I learned allot from it. I am a martial artist living in Brooklyn, NY and I am vegetarian (no meat and no fish) im very strict. I work out most of the day, and I have about 10 (1 hour each) classes per day. I study Acupuncture as well and I find it very interesting, so I figured I will ask my question here. Lately I have allot of Gas while I train, and I was wondering why this happens, I don’t eat any heavy food, I eat mainly Vegetables, Pasta, and Natural food. Is there an acupuncture treatment I can do for this?

Thank you for your kind words anonymous. Vegetarian diet may bring about a gas condition more frequently than a regular diet. Many vegetables, especially if eaten raw, may cause this condition, especially legumes. Milk products, especially milk itself, may also cause this condition. Sometimes, a strict vegetarian diet or vegan, may weaken the Spleen Qi, cool its energy and cause digestive problems that gas condition may only mark its beginning, especially if you are young. Therefore, I suggest that you consult a Chinese Dr. who has enough experience with herbal treatment and let him/her make a proper diagnosis. |
