I just treated a male patient who had radical surgery of his neck and mouth. He had 1/4 of his palate removed and the right side of his neck has been altered. He underwent radiation therapy. He now presents with the inability of opening his jaw more than 1/4 of an inch. He says his surgon told him it would resolve in a short time. it has been 6 months and no change. I gave him two treatments for stiff jaw and lock jaw with no results. Any suggestions?

You don't really think that two sessions is enough in such a case, do you Ted? With such a major change of his facial anatomy I am not sure at all that you'll be able to help him altogether. I suggest that you use local points as the main points prescription with the addition of very strong distant points such as Li-4 and St-36 (mainly of the Yang Ming), etc. In any event, be prepared for a prolonged treatment with a very gradual improvement (if any at all). |

I kind of suspected what you said, but it is nice to hear it from someone else as well. I'll keep you informed. Hope he gets some relief. |
