Hi, Dr. Halevi I don't know anything about acupuncture. Last week I began treatment. A close friend suggested me this alternative, due to my common migraines. I have endometriosis and endometriomas in my ovaries. I have been suffering from headaches since I been using progesterone to control the problem. Previosly I was treated with leuprolide acetate. Back then I had hot flashes. I would like to know your opinion because I didnt had the opportunity to ask the Dr. a few questions I had. I had on 13 needles: up my forehead, back of both my ears, both my hands, abdomen, side of my knees, front of my feet, up both my anckles. Dr. recomended me 12 sesions of acupuncture, once a week, in order to control my endocrinological disorders and help with ginecological problems and migraine. I would like your opinion and your suggestion on online material I could read about acupuncture. I have checked many sites but explanations are very technical.

Hello Susanna. You'll probably need more than 12 sessions for these problems and, unfortunately, once a week is too weak for the problems you have. You may be needing at least 3 sessions per week for a longer period of time. Endometriosis may take several (like 3) months of treatment, considering that you are treated by a real professional. The use of herbs is also recommended in such a case. Both migraine and the gyn problems are treatable by Ch.med., usually with good results. The use of hormonal therapy in your case is strongly not recommended and may be even dangerous. Good luck. |
