Dear Dr. Halevi, After reviewing your web site I think that you are the right person to ask him about the subject: How acupuncture can help the mother and baby in the breastfeeding term? I'm intending to become a breastfeeding consultant and I'm very interested in the above subject. Thank you very much for your time. Cordially, Anat Turjansky

Greetings Anat. Acupuncture, for once, is very effective in replenishing milk production in nursing mothers, or curing agalactia (lack of breast milk) altogether. In fact, also Chinese herbal medicine has considerable success with these conditions. As a matter of fact, scant milk production responds so well to acupuncture that even massaging the proper points may resolve this problem. I have written a full chapter about this disorder in my book: "Chopsticks Acupuncture" (you may read about it here: http://www.acumedico.com/pdf.htm ). Also issues such as Mastitis and other breast disorders are dealt with very effectively by acupuncture and/or Ch. herbs. I hope this answers your question. |
