"Dorban", or ankle spur in English, is considered a blood stasis condition in T.C.M. and must be treated as such. Use local points by blood dispersion techniques, as well as Damp and Heat removing points that affect the lower limb. Yin Xu treatment has nothing to do with it at the initial stage. Treat the Yin Xu condition after the elimination of the acute problem.

If the location of the spur is at the plantar part of the ankle, as is usually the case, use points: B-60/ K-5/ K-4/ K-2 and if your patient can tolerate and you have a fast and steady hand, insert swiftly to the center of the pain until the bone. On top of this needle light moxa. Also B-40 weizhong may be used from the distance as well as Li-4 etc. Still, needle manipulation is of prime importance. Good luck.

hi a/o
a good distal pt. for such problem is located about 1/2 cun above pc-7 either a little left or right ( look for a sensitive spot ), needling contrelateral.
Also tuina is quite effective for such problem. Work on three lines Bl/kid and gb (not quite, more like the line of bl-58). Also work until warm on kid6,5,and on the sole of the foot until warm/
good luck
Boaz
