dear dr. halevi i must start by writing how happy i am to have found this forum i have been searching for one like this for quitw some time and i am reading your answers in teva life forum but as a new practitioner in chinease medicine i am glad to find you my q? is regarding a paitiont who had herpes zoster in his head a year ago and now has discomfort and somtimes pain in his forhead and near his eyes and along the gb channel. he has had problems along this channel all his life(he is 84 years old) including pain in the gb but never was treated nor diagnosed in this directions he also has weak kid(symptoms and t+p) but overall he has a strong p.(palse) i have givven him 6 treatments and he feels good for about 6 hours after and that is all can you please tell me what you think about this case, i know it is not alot of info. but still. i thank you very much |

Thank you A.O. Your patient suffers from the Post herpetic Syndrome which is indeed a very distressing condition. In the head region, it almost always follows the path of the GB channel, mainly because this syndrome is characterized by excessively exuberant liver Yang and damp-heat in the same time. You may need a great deal of patience and an excellent needle technique so that your treatments may cure this old patient. Try to use the one needle above-two needles below technique described in my work at: http://acumedico.com/combinations.htm Use: Sj-5 in deep needling to begin with Then: G-20/ 19/ 14 and points surrounding the eye Then: G-34/ 38/ 41/ 43 Don't tonify the kidneys at this stage, only after the pain is relieved.
