Dear Shmuel,
another hard topic...
Now you can guess where I basically practice my medical artistry, since most of my patients are elderly people, maybe over 70 and maybe all of them suffer from the traumatic Post- Auschwitz syndrome, those who I meet day by day and were able to return from Inferno... ... ...
Could you advise me pls. for any effective approach for these people who suffer from all sorts of anxiety, insomnia, psychotic behaviour, not to mention of course physical pain as to age, but basically i.e. deep post traumatic life...!?

Thannks for any ray of hope for them...! edwin

This is a vast question indeed Edwin, could write a whole book about this subject alone
I usually treat such patients by acupuncture as the main modality and herbal treatment as a supplement. People who have been post traumatic for such a long time, and have survived the inferno as you say, develop their own means and techniques to tuck away their fears, memories and anxieties. They also, in my experience, are quite tough persons, despite their old age, if they have not been so they probably would have not survived. After all, there is no equivalence in suffering to what they had been through in their lives.
Yet, they respond to acupuncture, in most cases that I have seen, better than their age-colleagues who have not passed that inferno.
I'll give you a prescription, a starter prescription, that I find tremendously helpful as a general formula aimed at soothing the nervous system, calming the mind, stabilizing Shen and circulating heart Qi.
H-7/ P-6/ Yintang/ Liv-3/ Sp-6/ Ren-4/ Ren-6
Reduce (gently) the 3 first points and tonify the rest.
If there is depression involved, add B-14 and Ren-17.
For psychotic behavior you may add to the above Du-20/ B-17/ P-4 and K-3, if there is excessive phlegm involved add: P-5/ St-40 and Ren-14
Until the anxiety, emotional condition stabilizes, you may use herbs to take care of the other physical problems that they may have, as well as teach them some Qigong and breathing excercises.
In all, every such patient is definitely an endless challenge.
