When the main problem relates to the Sp-K etiology, you may use: Sp-6/ Sp-9/ Ren-3/ St-28 as the basic prescription. If you find that the K is very weak, add: B-23/ 28 When the main problem exists in the Liv pathologies, use: Sp-6/ Liv-8/ Ren-3/ St-29/ B-32 If there is too much heat involved, add: K-2/ B-39 or 40/ Liv-5 Hope this helps. |

4-6 mm stones require also herbal prescription in order to disintegrate the stones. As for the acupuncture treatment, the answer is still the same as mentioned above. Even recurrence of kidney stones need to be differentiated syndromatically. Not always this is a case of pathogenic heat in the urinary system. Moreover, during a colic attack, the treatment will be entirely different than a treatment carried out in the chronic phase. Sometimes, the etiology of the prostatic hyperplasia will be different from that of the kidney stone… in such a case the treatment will be more complicated and could need one problem to be treated by herbs and the other by acupuncture. If you have on hand a specific case, what is your diagnosis? |
