In many texts from China I frequently encounter the procedure of needling through. I wonder if you can explain what is it exactly and when this technique is being used. Thank you.

Needling through is when you join 2-3 (and sometimes even more) points in one needle insertion. For example: You needle Li-20 to bitong (extra) in a proximal direction for sinusitis, or, G-34 with a long needle to Sp-9, etc. This procedure is usually applied in severe conditions including stubborn pain or paralysis, etc. It is very sedating and the needles are usually retained for a longer period of time than usual. |

Hi. Has anyone ever treated a patient with frmoral nerve pain? My patient is experiencing numbness in his inner thigh and knee. I;m thinking Huato's might be good. Any suggestions? |
