I have been treating a seven year old child for constipation for a number of weeks now, I have used cupping and it has provided much relief but only lasts a number of days. Is there any tricks of the trade I should be using if I use acupuncture and I presume the points are the same. |

Treatment of habitual constipation in young children is usually very easy and bears quick results. Cupping alone may not do the trick.. Use: Li-4/ St-25/ St-36 as the main prep. If the child is pale, pale tongue and lips and nails, add: Sp-6 with moxa. If you can detect a heat condition, i.e., hard and dry stools, red tongue, unquiteness, add: Li-11 and St-44. Manipulation of the needles according to the underlying condition. I suppose I don't need to mention dietary modifications both according tto the Ch. and Western diagnosis...
