Can anybody comment on these exercises? I found it very simple to learnt as compare to other qigong i.e only 5 core movements. But what is it with all this buzz about Falun sect? Regards, DA http://www.acumedico.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=25&post=371#POST371 |

Well, I've been hesitating to get into this one, but since you've asked... The concern most people have is with the seemingly unusual behaviour and statements of the leader of Falungong. Some people think he is fine, others find his statements and policies to be somewhat alarming. You'll have to decide for yourself. You should be able to do the necessary critical research into the matter on the internet, his career is increasingly well documented. Regards, A.A. |

Hi A.A, It was quite interesting to learnt that some of the lectures given by Master Li Hongzhi were quite amazing and puzzling. I did a bit of research of Falun and Qigong in general from Library and Internet and found that the fundamental of both exercises is the same. What confused me is the fact that Falun is capable of attracting such a large number of practitioners, not only in China but all over the world. Apart from that, I found that the physical exercises taught were almost similar to other Qigong. The only different perhaps the fact the Falun does not emphasize on breathing during the exercise. Finally, I personally think falun exercises are worth learning. I found that the instruction given from the websites (together with the videos) are very helpful. And again, at the end of the day, what's important is that one should gain a better health condition together with a better moral character. Just my 2cents, Regards, DA Ps: I have been practicing Falun for over 1 weeks, but nothing seems to be special yet. Maybe it needs longer time. |
