Which one is most important in Deqi sensation (and must be specially asked from the patients during needling) : numbness-weak electrical current sensation around and far from the point needled-heavy sensation-pain Sometimes, some patients have no Deqi sensation despite correct point location/technique and manipulation in several directions. What is your recommendation and/or comments in this respect >

There is no better deqi than other. Every point may have its peculiar sensation, and every person may feel a different sensation at a given point than another person. Moreover, you may produce a different qi sensation at the same point, depending on the type of needle manipulations that you perform.

It is enough that you have a clear sensation at your fingertips that you have "fished" the point. |

Dear Dr Halevi, What is your exact meaning from "fishing the point" and "clear sensation at fingertips" ? Is it crepitation sensation or something else? Would you please explain more. |

It is a sensation as if your needle has been hooked by the point just the same as you feel while you are actually fishing. Some kind of a gentle pulling applied by the point on your needle. |
