many ears ago i cured a cyst growing in my hip joint by using the fire needle (doing moxa on the needle inserted at the site of the cyst).
like to know if i can usse that technique for an ear infection due to having moved to a cold and damp climate. it is been going on for a month and irrigating it with H2O2 and colloidal silver, and finally antibiotic have all failed to cure it. would sj 21 be the best point to fire needle? in order to dispel the damp and cold and promote the natural healing process?

Darius, the technique you are referring to is named warm needling and not fire needle. Fire needle is described in my article at:
http://www.acumedico.com/female.htm
As for your question, if the condition is indeed damp and cold, and NOT damp and heat, you may very successfully use the warm needle technique.
Best point is G-2, inserted at least 1 cun deep, then apply moxa on the needle handle. If you do this properly (along with other assisting points), relief is expected right after the first session.
