Dear dr. Halevi,
I have come to your web site looking for alternative therapy for Retinitis pigmentosa. And I was impressed by your article at the acupuncture.com as well as other articles on your web site.
I'm a medical doctor with interest in complementary medicine who often reffer my patients to acupuncture. Now I'm looking for reliable information about alternative therapeutic (especially acupuncture) approach to illness that my friend has: retinitis pigmentosa (inherited, his brother has the same problem). He's about 30 with slow but progresive visual loss.
Could you give me some advise?

This is very hard to cure Dr. Bralic, especially when it is in advanced stage and is obviously an inherited condition. Still, acupuncture treatments may be able to slow down the progress or even bring it to a halt for several years. These treatments must be administered on a regular basis and by an expert acupuncturist.
The articles you have read may indicate to you the Chinese medicine approach to various eye conditions, and the necessity to reach a wholistic kind of diagnosis for the condition your friend is having. Without such a diagnosis the prognosis of the treatment may probably be very poor. |
